Visual Artist
Based in the Ouseburn cultural quarter in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, Louise Bradley works from life or en plein air. Her work is inspired by the colour, patterns, rhythms, fragility and supremacy of nature.
"I have several of Louise‘s paintings and prints, I just can’t resist the colours and form. My favourite is a picture of a chrysanthemum and a dahlia in oil It takes me back to spending lots of time in the garden as a child, losing myself in the detail of flowers.
I love that Louise’s pictures elegantly complement simple decor but also don’t look out of place on a busy wall.
Original beautiful paintings and in my opinion very reasonably priced. An exceptional talent."
I'm very lucky to own a number of Louise's pieces of work. The first piece of work I bought from her was a pen and ink drawing of some lilies that caught my eye at an exhibition in Gateshead Library over ten years ago. Her interpretation of the lilies was so detailed, showing the natural beauty of the flowers. Each of the works I own are all unique and are simply beautiful hanging on my walls. Her work can be so accurate, yet also abstract. Her use of colour, which derives from flowers and nature, is outstanding. Over the years I have seen her style change and grow as she has developed different techniques, I just wish I had more space to display her work.
Louise’s art is mesmerising, uplifting and botanically beautiful with a true insight into the movement, form and drama of each plant species that she chooses to work with. Her perfect understanding of light, shade, colour and texture allows me to escape into another world - a magical garden - each time I look at one of her paintings.
